Finding the ‘why’ behind your symptoms

Physiotherapy is the foundation of my practice.

As a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 20 years of clinical experience, I help people understand their symptoms, recover from injury and pain, and return to the activities that matter most to them.

While physiotherapy is often associated with exercises, stretches and rehabilitation, my approach goes beyond simply treating the area that hurts.

I believe the body works as an interconnected system, and that understanding the bigger picture is often the key to lasting recovery.

When might physiotherapy help?

I work with adults of all ages experiencing:

Whether your symptoms are recent or longstanding, the goal is to understand what may be contributing to them and identify the most appropriate path forward.

One of the things I hear most often is:

“I’ve tried lots of things, but nothing seems to get to the root of it.”

Pain and dysfunction are rarely caused by a single factor.

Previous injuries, surgery, scars, movement patterns, stress, lifestyle and life experiences can all influence how the body feels and functions. Sometimes these factors layer on top of one another over time, making symptoms appear more complex than they really are.

Taking the time to understand that bigger picture is an important part of how I work.

Every assessment begins by listening to your story and understanding how your symptoms are affecting your life.

Depending on your needs, treatment may include:

  • Detailed assessment and diagnosis
  • Hands-on treatment
  • Exercise rehabilitation
  • Movement and postural advice
  • Scar therapy
  • Visceral Manipulation
  • Education and self-management strategies

Treatment is always tailored to the individual. Some people need reassurance and guidance, while others benefit from a longer-term rehabilitation approach.

Alongside physiotherapy, I have undertaken extensive postgraduate training in Visceral Manipulation, scar therapy and Somatic Experiencing.

These additional skills allow me to consider not only the physical aspects of recovery, but also how previous experiences, nervous system responses and patterns of adaptation may be influencing your symptoms.

This broader perspective is often particularly valuable for people with persistent symptoms or those who feel they have not found answers through more conventional approaches.

My aim is not simply to reduce pain.

It is to help you understand what may be contributing to your symptoms, feel confident in your body’s ability to recover and leave with a clear plan for moving forward.
