Pregnancy support

Supporting you to move, feel and prepare well throughout pregnancy

Pregnancy is an extraordinary time of change.

The female body is remarkably adaptable, constantly adjusting to support and nourish a growing baby while preparing for birth and motherhood. Muscles, ligaments, posture, breathing patterns and movement all change as pregnancy progresses.

While these changes are normal, they can sometimes lead to discomfort, pain or uncertainty about what is happening in your body.

You don’t have to simply put up with it.

You may be experiencing:

  • Pelvic girdle pain
  • Lower back pain
  • Hip or rib pain
  • Sciatica-like symptoms
  • Pelvic floor concerns
  • Difficulty exercising comfortably
  • Concerns about preparing for birth
  • Questions about what is normal during pregnancy

Many women are told that aches and pains are simply part of being pregnant. While discomfort can be common, there is often a great deal that can be done to help you feel more comfortable, confident and supported throughout your pregnancy.

Understanding your changing body

Every pregnancy is unique.

As your body adapts to accommodate your growing baby, changes in posture, movement, breathing patterns and tissue tension can influence how you feel and function. Previous injuries, surgery, scars and lifestyle factors may also affect how your body responds to the demands of pregnancy.

My role is to help you understand these changes, support your body’s natural adaptations and address any symptoms that may be making pregnancy more challenging than it needs to be.

As a Chartered Physiotherapist with over 20 years of clinical experience, I provide specialist support for women throughout pregnancy.

Treatment is tailored to your individual needs and may include:

  • Assessment of pregnancy-related pain and discomfort
  • Hands-on treatment
  • Movement and exercise advice
  • Pelvic floor guidance
  • Postural and breathing assessment
  • Visceral assessment where appropriate
  • Strategies to support daily activities and exercise
  • Preparation for birth and recovery

My aim is not simply to reduce pain, but to help you feel more comfortable, confident and connected to your body as it changes throughout pregnancy.

For women who would like ongoing support throughout pregnancy, I offer the PhysioNatal® Pregnancy Care Programme.
